The entire interface of uBuyFirst can be called your workspace.
A workspace consist of
- Panels of information
- Docking locations where panels can be re-located
- Sizing criteria for how each panel is displayed within it’s location.
The goal is to ensure all the data you need is present and in a layout that helps you make a purchasing decision quick and accurately without the need to visit the eBay website listing page until you’re ready to buy an item.
Panel Types #
The Panels of information can be broken down into two categories:
eBay Item Information Panels
- Search Results View
- Item Description
- Pictures –
- Item Properties
Internal Panels
- eBay Search Terms
- Custom Filters
- Buy Module (For direct purchasing and commit to buy)
- Application Log
You can configure these in any arrangement and size them to your liking.
Stock Workspaces #
A basic and full layout workspace has been included to give you a choice to start from.
Main Menu > View > Panels > Select “Basic” or “Full Details” workspace
View / Add / Remove Panels #
By default, most panels will be displayed when first installed.
To view the panels that are active, add additional panels or remove panels:.
- A check mark will indicate active panels.
- To add/remove a panel to the workspace, select or de-select a panel option from the menu navigation
- OR Right click on a panel header > select close
Dock Panels #
- Docking Hints
Click a panel header and drag it away to undock this panel. As you do so, docking hints appear. You can drag a panel to a hint to dock this panel to a new location. The live preview will inform you of how the layout will look once you release the panel.

Docking Tabs #
Docking tabs are best used for non-item specific information that you want quick access to without having to click through the standard menu navigation.
Most common practice is to have the keywords, log and results panels docked to the primary panel with the results tab on the top.
Saving / Loading Workspace #
Save your workspace anytime you remove, add, relocate or change the sizing of any panel.
- To Save: View > Workspace > Capture Workspace > Type in a name > Click OK.
To overwrite current workspace with new settings:
- View > Workspace > Workspaces > Select the saved workspace > Save Workspace
To Load Existing Workspace
- View > Workspaces > Select saved template by name
Custom Skins #
Other Workspace Hints & Tricks #
- You can undock panels and have them on different monitors. One common practice is to have one screen for search results, pictures and the other monitor would have just the description. To do this, undock the description panel and drag it to your other monitor.
