This is an MVP beta watchlist. If a feature is missing or you have a request, please let us know.
Overview #
The system checks your list every 60 seconds and automatically sends alerts when:
- An out-of-stock item becomes available
- The amount of an in-stock item changes
Key Items:
– Watchlist is a new panel. To access View > Panels and put in a location that works for you.
– You must have your eBay account connected to uBuyFirst

How It Works #
Automatic Monitoring #
- Your eBay Watch List is monitored every 60 seconds
- Triggers alerts for:
- Stock status changes (e.g., back in stock)
- Quantity updates on in-stock items
- Watch List panel must be enabled
- Items must exist in your eBay Watch List (added via uBuyFirst or eBay)

#
Sound Alerts #
- Changes to items on watchlist will get the same alert tone for new listings in results.
- Follows your current in-app sound settings
Setup & Activation #
Prerequisites #
To start receiving Watch List notifications:
- Enable the Watch List panel in the uBuyFirst desktop app
- Add items to your eBay Watch List
- Configure at least one notification method in Settings
#
Managing Notifications #
This section explains how you can control when and how notifications are triggered for items in your eBay Watch List.
Frequency #
- Refreshes every 30 seconds
- One notification per change (no repeat alerts unless the item changes again)
- No custom throttling for Watch List alerts
Filters #
Users can apply various filters to manage notifications more effectively. For example, you can filter items by Status (Active) and set Quantity ranges to narrow down to high-priority listings.
- Use the “Show only non-zero quantity” filter (if available) to limit to in-stock items
- Remove items from your eBay Watch List to stop receiving alerts for them

What’s in a Notification? #
Each notification includes:
- Item title and listing info
- Stock status (in stock/out of stock)
- Current quantity available
- Price
- Direct link to the eBay listing
Troubleshooting #
Issue | Solution |
---|---|
Not receiving alerts | Ensure main notification settings are working and that items are in your eBay Watch List |
Too many alerts | Remove unnecessary items or use filters |
Missed stock changes | Manual refresh may help; brief inventory changes between 30s cycles may be missed |
Best Practices #
- Keep your eBay Watch List under 1,000 items (eBay API limit)
- Periodically review and clean your list
- Combine Watch List and search-based alerts for broader monitoring
- Start with a few items to test your preferred alert frequency
- Set a filter on the watchlist panel for QTY > 0 and Status = Active

Technical Notes #
- Watch List syncs with eBay’s native Watch List (not a separate uBuyFirst list)
- You can remove an item by right clicking on the grid > delete from watchlist (this will remove it from your ebay watchlist also)
